Hi you,
I have something to celebrate: this year Amsterdam Cupcake Company turns 15. And I’ve noticed that over the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about it more and more. Not because I’m necessarily feeling nostalgic (okay, maybe a little ;)), but because it shows me so clearly what progress really is: building layer by layer, adjusting along the way, growing up — and continuing to create.
It started out very small: cupcakes from home. Then a little shop in Amsterdam East (through an anti-squat space, just to try it out), then a location near Sloterdijk, then my shop in Amsterdam West — and now it’s an atelier bakery where you order online in advance. No physical storefront anymore, but more focus. More calm. More room for detail. (And of course, you’re still very welcome to pick up your order at the bakery.)
And maybe that’s the biggest growth of all: that I’ve learned to choose more and more clearly. For what suits me, for what makes sense for the business, and for what I want to build with my team. Everything you see now is designed in Amsterdam and made by hand in small batches — with attention.
The past few years haven’t always been easy. Covid changed a lot, including how customers ordered and what suddenly became possible. But honestly? That shift also brought us to where we are now: a webshop-atelier that can reach further, without losing the personal feeling.
And now it feels like we’re stepping into a new phase. 15 years of ACC, with a new vibe: a new look, a new logo, and a website that’s being updated step by step into the style of today. Most of it is already in the new “Faryel 2026” world, and the rest will follow.
You’ll also see it more and more in the collections: more refined, calmer, more couture cupcakes — less is more, but with those details you only notice when something is truly made by hand.
And because celebrating is also about looking ahead: the next collection that fully fits this new style is my Mother’s Day collection. Soft, warm and refined — made for those moments when you want to put someone (or yourself) in the spotlight.

Love,
Faryel
