The past few weeks have been one big, heartwarming adventure for us — or to be more precise, for me and my little mini-me, Evy. Together, we organized a bake sale for the Hartekind Foundation, and what started as a spontaneous mother-daughter idea turned into something much bigger (and stickier, thanks to all the frosting). 🧁
We baked, we glued flyers, we designed with AI (yes, that was Evy’s very first tech-meets-cupcake moment 😄), and we learned so much along the way — from marketing and planning to the courage it takes to put yourself out there… and the joy when someone smiles and buys what you made with love.
And the best part?
We raised over a thousand euros! 🧡
I’m beyond proud — not just of the number, but of what Evy learned: that creating and sharing something from the heart can truly make a difference.
Somewhere between frosting cupcakes and printing flyers, I was also knee-deep in Halloween madness 🎃 — ovens running overtime, boxes flying out the door, and spooky sprinkles absolutely everywhere.
So, from the bottom of my butter-filled heart: thank you for all your orders, kind messages, and shared photos. Your excitement makes everything twice as magical (and three times as sugary).
Now that the last spiderwebs have been packed away, a new kind of magic is in the air…
Tonight is Sint-Maarten, one of my favorite Dutch traditions. The streets turn into little wonderlands filled with glowing lanterns, giggling children, and the cozy scent of cinnamon and autumn. Every morning, when I cycle to the bakery and the lights still softly shimmer in the dark, I feel it again: this truly is the most magical time of the year. ✨
