Last week, I was happily baking with my daughter Evy (she’s five and goes to school now). She had an Easter lunch at school, and as always, we love contributing something homemade. This time, we couldn’t bring a cake – that was already crossed off the teacher’s list – so we decided to get creative with croissant dough. We made little bird nests: braided croissant dough, brushed with milk, baked to a golden brown, and filled with chocolate eggs. They looked so cute, and we were so proud of them. But when Evi came home, she said:
“Mum, I had two croissants – ours and one from another kid. But the other one tasted a bit better…”
Well, there I was, my whole philosophy – that taste always comes first – crumbled for a moment. But honestly, I just laughed. The joy wasn’t in the perfect bird nest but in the fun of making them together. And that’s exactly what I want to bring across with my bakery: celebrating moments, big or small, together with the people you love.
Easter magic – at home and outdoors
At home, I went all in on the magic of Easter. Evy casually mentioned that the Easter Bunny would probably come, so of course, I had to make it happen. A letter from the Easter Bunny, a bit of grass and dirt sprinkled around the house, and hidden Easter eggs. She was in awe, though she did say the Bunny’s drawings looked suspiciously like mine. But hey, the joy was in the moment. Later, we went on an Easter hunt at a nearby farm. Bird spotting, seeing hares in the fields, and trading straw eggs for chocolate ones – it was magical. And, I even considered wearing Easter-themed earrings, but that felt like a step too far. 😉
Spring in my home and bakery
With spring in the air, I’ve decorated my home completely. A blooming Easter branch, colorful flowers, and a new bench in the front yard make it all feel so cheerful. It’s now my favorite spot to unwind after a busy day at the bakery. And the spring vibes also found their way to our cupcake collection!
This season, I’ve created a collection of fresh spring flavors that are perfect for your celebrations. From lemon to raspberry and vanilla blossom – there’s something special for everyone. Click here to discover the spring flavors and let yourself be surprised!
Looking ahead
I am on a lovely family vacation at the moment, but don’t worry – Stef will be here to keep everything running smoothly. So you can still place your orders on the webshop as usual. Before I left I created a special collection for your Mum! But did you know something special is coming after the May break?
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and I’m already working on something truly magical to celebrate all moms. Want to know what it is? Click here for a sneak peek and be the first to find out!
Closing with a warm note:
I hope you’re enjoying the little magical moments, just like I am. Whether it’s a croissant bird nest, a sunny bench in the garden, or a box of cupcakes on the table – let’s celebrate the magic of the season together. 🌸
Liefs Far,
