Pride Month, bumps on the road and more!

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind since returning from my relaxing vacation in Greece. I came back recharged, ready to dive back into the bakery, and… well, life had a few surprises waiting for me. First, my e-reader is still missing. I want to thank everyone who reached out to help, your kindness means the world to me. While I haven’t found it yet, I still have hope (and a TikTok video out there just in case!).

Back to the bakery

The first week back was insane in the best way possible, thank you for keeping us so busy! Stef and I have been brainstorming new bento cake designs, but with all the orders coming in, we haven’t had much time to finalize them. Stay tuned, though, because we can’t wait to share them with you soon.

Speaking of busy, we’re also gearing up for Pride Month in June. It’s one of my favorite times of the year, not just because I get to create colorful, joyful cupcakes, but because it’s a celebration of inclusivity and love. I’m so happy to see more workplaces embracing this important celebration: it reminds me of International Women’s Day in that way.

A little bump in the road

On a more serious note, there was an unexpected challenge last week. My delivery driver, Ruud, was rear-ended while stopped at a red light in our van. Thankfully, he’s okay, aside from a bruised rib, but the van is beyond repair. Now I’m figuring out what’s next: should I buy or lease a new one? It’s one of those things you don’t think about when starting a bakery, but it’s all part of running a business. People often think my days are just spent happily piping cupcakes, but the reality is a mix of baking, managing, and problem-solving. And honestly? I love it all. I spend about two days a week in the bakery now, depending on the help we have, and the rest of my time is focused on running the business.

Launching Bakademie

Speaking of running a business… I’m so excited to share that I’ve officially launched my second company: Bakademie!

Bakademie is a platform where I mentor and guide other baking entrepreneurs. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to make your bakery more efficient, I’m here to share everything I’ve learned about productivity, systems, and scaling with ease.
Efficiency was a game-changer for me, especially during and after the pandemic. I’ve transformed my bakery into a much smoother operation, and now I want to help others do the same.

✨ Curious about how to take control of your time for your bakery? Check out this video on TikTok or visit my new website to learn more.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me!

Whether it’s through your support of Amsterdam Cupcake Company or your enthusiasm for Bakkademie. These past weeks have been a reminder of how much magic there is in celebrating love, resilience, and the little moments that make life sweet.
