It’s been a little quieter than usual. The team and I took some time off for our summer holidays — and I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer too.
My family and I did things a little differently this year.
Normally, we love nothing more than heading off on an adventure somewhere in the world. But after everything that’s happened this year, it felt really good to slow down for a while. No big plans, no faraway trip. Just being at home, recharging, and seeing what each day would bring.
A proper staycation.
And as if it was meant to be, the Netherlands treated us to lots of wonderfully warm summer days. ☀️
I absolutely loved it.
And now, of course, I’m curious about you. How was your summer? Did you head off on an adventure? Did you have a staycation like me? Do those hot summer days make you happy too, or are you the kind of person who starts looking for shade and somewhere cool as soon as it hits 30°C?

The bakery is up and running again, the ovens are back on, and we’re starting the new season with fresh energy.

Fifteen years. I can hardly believe it myself.
And I think that’s a very good reason to do something we haven’t done in almost four years…
The shop is opening again.
Okay, just for one day. 😉
As you may remember, I closed our shop almost four years ago. And although it was absolutely the right decision for the business — it means we can focus completely on your orders and make so much more than we could when we were also running a shop every day — there are still things I miss about it.
People spontaneously popping in. Someone taking a look at what’s in the display. Choosing a cupcake on the spot. Having a little chat.
So I thought: if we’re turning 15, why not bring that back for one day?
Saturday 29 August: our shop is back 💛
For one Saturday only, we’re turning our bakery into a little pop-up shop.
You don’t need to order anything in advance. You don’t need to make a reservation.
You can simply walk in.
I’ll make sure the shop is filled with cupcakes and other treats, you can choose whatever you fancy on the day — and, of course, I’d love it if you stayed for a little chat too.
