Dear you,
If there’s one thing that secretly makes me really happy, it’s planning. Whether it’s for a small get-together, a big birthday, or – yes, you guessed it – the holidays! I celebrate everything in life, but trust me: there’s always a lot of planning behind it.
This year that became even more clear, because both of my parents are turning 65. My dad just celebrated his birthday in September, and my mom’s is coming up in a week. To mark this wonderful milestone, I had a whole weekend planned. Honestly, I’d been working on it for half a year (and usually I can’t keep secrets, but this time I managed to keep the surprise until the very day!). On his birthday we revealed it, and a few days later we went away with the whole family. Those moments – planning together, celebrating together – are what make life truly special.
And now it’s official… only 86 days until Christmas! So yes, the planning can really begin. You might be thinking: “Oh, there’s still plenty of time!” But believe me, before you know it, we’ll be crafting lanterns for Sint Maarten (Evy’s version, “lampion walking,” still melts my heart), then come the Halloween parties, Sinterklaas surprises, and soon enough… it’s Christmas already.
Last week was especially busy in the bakery because one of the ladies was on a well-deserved vacation (which of course also calls for celebration!). Thanks to good planning I was able to manage all the orders, and despite the rush, everything stayed cheerful and under control. No chaos – just lots of happy orders. That’s exactly why I’m already starting my own holiday planning – and why I’d love to inspire you to do the same!
