It’s been a little while since I last wrote and I’m truly curious how you are doing. How has your summer been so far? Did you go on holiday, enjoy some slower days at home, or are you already back in your work routine? We just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Curaçao. Just the three of us, enjoying the sunshine, the pool, and – of course – snorkeling. Maarten and I have loved the underwater world for years, especially sea turtles. It all started when we were 18, during our gap year in Australia. Since then, almost every trip we take is somehow planned around the chance to see these magical creatures.
This year was extra special because our daughter Evy, who just turned six, had her very first snorkeling experience with a sea turtle. A magical moment for her, and for us. Later we explored calm, beautiful bays together, where the water was crystal clear and the coral full of color. These are the kinds of moments that make holidays unforgettable. ✨
And of course – a birthday can’t go by without cupcakes! Even though we were far from our own bakery, we found a lovely local baker via Instagram. Sweet Myrele from Zoet Curaçao created special cupcakes for Evy in our family-and-Curaçao theme: some with a flamingo, others with a turtle, and also with the Curaçao flag. It made her birthday complete. 🧁💖
As you may have noticed, our bakery has been closed since 2 August so we could take a little summer break and recharge. I hope you didn’t mind too much – and that you’ll easily find your way back to us again. Because from Saturday 23rd August, we’re back in the bakery and ready to celebrate your special moments with you!
Stef has already started prepping again. So you can already place your orders for 23August and onwards. Whether it’s a birthday, a wedding, a new baby, or simply because you want to surprise someone (or yourself) – we’re here to add that magical touch.
Life has enough worries as it is. That’s why I believe in celebrating every moment, big or small, extraordinary or everyday. Because every moment is worth making a little more magical.
