Life at the bakery often seems to revolve around beautiful cakes, colorful cupcakes, and moments of celebration. But today, I want to take you behind the scenes—to the real heart of my bakery: the team.
You might remember the update I shared back in May about our delivery van accident. It was a tough time, especially for our driver, who thankfully walked away with only minor injuries. The van itself? Unfortunately, it didn’t make it. That left me with a big decision: do I buy a new van, or do we try something different?
I know how much you value having your order—whether it’s a birthday cake, a box of logo cupcakes for the office, or a surprise treat for someone special—delivered right to your door. That’s why I decided to partner with Alex and his family business. Maybe you’ve already met Alex, his mother, father, or one of their colleagues at your doorstep. They’re not just punctual and kind—they share my mission: to make every moment magical, all the way to your front door.
And our former driver? He’s now part of our bakery team! Ruud brings his experience as a chef into our kitchen, giving us extra hands when things get busy. This summer, we also welcomed Ilham, who helps us out alongside her studies—baking, packing, and sometimes even a little taste-testing. Then there’s Puck, our sporty superstar, who joins us once a week when her mountain biking schedule allows. Stef is often there—our rock, handling everything from baking to packing. Personally I am thrilled with my amazing theam: dedicated, joyful, and detail-obsessed.
Behind the scenes, there are even more heroes: people who keep my admin in check, make sure our marketing sparkles, and help everything run smoothly—so I, together with my family, can pour my heart into every order.
And it’s been busy lately! Loads of logo cupcakes, gorgeous birthday cakes, and cheerful bento cakes have been flying out the door.
